Repairs to take place overnight on road in Hamilton
Published: Tuesday 18 November 2025
Urgent repairs are to be carried out to a section of road on Duke Street, Hamilton.
To minimise disruption, the work will take place over two consecutive nights.
Duke Street (westbound lanes only) will be closed nightly between High Patrick Street to Quarry Street during the works, from 8pm to 6am on both Monday 24 November and Tuesday 25 November.
The alternative route during the closure will utilise Blackswell Lane, Palace Grounds Road, Muir Street, Almada Street, Wellhall Road, Chantinghall Road, Mill Road, Low Waters Road, Portland Place, Gateside Street and Quarry Street.
Head of Roads, Fleet and Transportation Services, Colin Park, said: “We apologise in advance for any inconvenience that may occur during these essential road improvement works.
“We have planned them to take place overnight in a bid to minimise disruption.
“We would ask that drivers allow additional time for their journey in order to avoid the section of Duke Street which is closed westbound overnight.”
